Having a baby is a sure fire way to close the door on your youth. The days of partying in to the small hours become a distant memory as you learn to cherish the sacred time when baby is sleeping by sleeping yourself. Of course you can always risk a 4 am finish and deal with the ensuing hangover but, if the idea of parenting after the night before gives you a sore head before you’ve so much as ordered a cocktail I might just have a solution.
Big Fish, Little Fish: 2-4 hour party people is the perfect way to relive your clubbing days, entertain your little one and come home with a clear head – well, almost clear assuming that you will take advantage of the licensed bar!

Marketed as ‘Family fun for the post-rave generation of parents. Helping parents be responsibly irresponsible since 2013’, baby raves offer a wide range of activities for children under 8 and their grown ups.

Expect a multi-sensory dance floor where you can bop along to pumping tunes, whilst playing with glitter cannons, bubbles and even get involved in a giant parachute dance. Children can get creative at craft tables, add their mark to a giant mural, explore play tents and crawl through tunnels.

Meanwhile babies can enjoy a sensory experience in the baby chill out space which is well equipped with mats and a ball pool.

Did I mention that all this takes place in a nightclub? Expect transfer tattoos and glow sticks!

Tall Dad and I took Tall Boy to the first birthday of Big Fish Little Fish in Manchester a few months ago. I took a few snaps to capture the atmosphere and tempt you to try it out for yourself.

Baby raves take place at various venues throughout the country and you can find out whether there is one near you if you head over to the Big Fish Little Fish website.
